President Trump has told the United States to brace for its worst week of the coronavirus pandemic. However, not everything is bad. In New York, cases have reportedly reached a plateau or at least a peak, and Italy, which has seen the worst of the European pandemic, has begun to see a decline in deaths. To try to help with the health crisis, a tech company called X-Mode, which tracks the devices of users, is seeing where people from heavily-hit areas are traveling to try to predict any new outbreaks. It says that it doesn't collect the identities of its users and puts consumer security first. Lastly, we take a trip to the Hakkoda Mountains in northern Japan, one of the snowiest places on Earth. But in the snow, many find beauty.

Easter is coming up this Sunday. It is the biggest holiday of the biggest religion in the world, with 31% of the world population being Christian. But with stay-at-home orders in place throughout most of the US, many churches are shut down, and it's causing some anger. In Louisiana, a preacher was arrested for illegally holding services after religious meetings had been banned. He retaliated by saying that the right to worship is given by God and that all congregants were maintaining physical distancing. Now that some people have recovered from COVID-19, the antibodies in their blood can help save the critically ill. The FDA approved it recently, and it has already saved lives. Lastly, CNN takes a look at how CNN Heroes, people who have made a difference in their communities, are helping those affected by the pandemic.

COVID-19 has changed the world as we know it. But how did it come to exist? There are many(bad) conspiracy theories out there, but scientists believe it originated in bats. The genome for bat coronavirus was a 96% match for its human counterpart. The bats probably infected livestock, which in turn infected humans in the unsanitary Chinese wet markets. This is a phenomenon known as zoonotic spillover. However, scientists have yet to discover its exact origin, which is a problem, as the virus could keep spreading from there. On a much happier note, we go on a virtual trip to San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. It is in fact a shade of red-orange and requires about 200 full-time workers to keep it in shape. Lastly, a siphonophore, a sort of marine animal that looks like a string, has been found in the Indian Ocean.

The first coronavirus lockdown has been lifted after more than two months in Wuhan, China. It was the first place that the virus was detected and all of its 11 million people had been on lockdown since January 23rd. Now, healthy people can leave, and people are hoping things will get better. Lately, all sports have been canceled. But there is talk of it returning soon. According to unconfirmed reports, the MLB may resume play next month with empty stands, distanced players, and umpires officiating via computers. Other rumors are being floated about hockey and basketball. Now we go back to China to look at the power struggle in the South China Sea. China has built artificial islands there and has military activity. UNCLOS, a plan created by the UN to prevent maritime conflict, states that in the area that China is building, China has no jurisdiction. And the biggest question is, once one nation ignores such regulations, what's to keep others from following suit?

The field of candidates for November's presidential election has thinned out to just former Vice President Joe Biden for the Democrats and incumbent President Donald Trump for the Republicans. However, the novel coronavirus outbreak is affecting politics. The national conventions for both parties have been postponed, and so have debates and campaigning. Speaking of COVID-19, how long will it take to form a vaccine? Normally, a vaccine takes years and years to make, and having one in less than a year is unheard of. Even with scientists around the world literally racing against time, the most optimistic predictions aim for 18-24 months for a vaccine. Next, we go to an "island" in the English Channel that is also an abbey. Mont Saint-Michel got its name from Archangel Saint Michael. Due to its location between tides, it is sometimes an island and sometimes a coastal fortress, even though it sits only 600 meters from dry land. It's a Gothic-style Benedictine Abby and was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site back in 1979. Want to have fancy house controls painted on your walls? MIT has found a way to do this with sensitive copper cutouts that can be painted.
